Feasibility of amending the eligibility criteria for the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal

Inquiry into the feasibility of amending the eligibility criteria for the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal (RVCM).

On 10 November 2014, the Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, the Hon Darren Chester MP, announced that the Tribunal was to conduct further investigation into the Australian Government’s legal ability to amend the eligibility criteria for the RVCM.  Read the Media Release.

The Tribunal completed this Inquiry and in June 2015 handed its report to the Government for consideration. In September 2015, the Tribunal received advice from Government that it had accepted the Tribunal’s recommendation. Read the Tribunal’s report here.  Read the Government’s response here.
