Dr Jane Harte served as an inaugural member of the Defence Honours and Awards Appeals Tribunal from July 2008 to July 2015.
Dr Harte has many years of experience as a psychologist and organisational development consultant, specialising in leadership and organisational behaviour. She has worked as a consultant with the Australian Defence Organisation and with multi-national mining companies in Australia and Indonesia; the higher education sectors in Australia, the United Kingdom and Ireland; the justice sector in Papua New Guinea and many health and medical training organisations in Australia.
In addition, Dr Harte has served over 20 years in the Australian Army Psychology Corps (Reserve) in varying capacities in Canberra, Brisbane, Townsville and Darwin. She holds higher degrees, including a Masters and a PhD, from Australian and Swedish universities as well as an Adjunct Associate Professor position with the Griffith University School of Medicine.
In addition, Dr Harte regularly teaches in the graduate business programs of the Universities of Aberdeen, St Andrews and Stirling in Scotland.
