The Hon Peter Lindsay OAM

Lindsay, P_photographThe Hon Peter Lindsay was appointed to the Defence Honours and Awards Appeals Tribunal as a Member in August 2014 for three years.

Mr Lindsay retired as a Member of Parliament in 2010 having served as the Federal member for Herbert in Queensland since 1996.  During his time in Parliament, Mr Lindsay held the positions of Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Defence and Deputy House Speaker.  He also held a range of parliamentary committee memberships.  following his retirement as the member for Herbert, Mr Lindsay was appointed as the Deputy Chancellor of James Cook University in Townsville.  Mr Lindsay was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in the 2016 Queen’s birthday honours list.
